So.... I was in the garage because I must send the parcel tomorrow.

The thing is.... Martin will get the holes, but they are very difficult to make because the arms are very very hard (much harder than the shafts - chilled iron probably)... I broke 3 carbide drills so we can say... these 4 holes were 10eu!!!

The reason is that the holes are only 2mm and carbide is very very brittle/delicate. It breaks when you finish drilling and it seems there is little I can do about it, I don't have a milling machine yet to fully control speed and feed rate of these drills...

I will try my best to keep the Cx650 setup for everyone - but I can't promise.... because if I don't find any good solution for drilling without breaking drills, it will mean if someone sends me their CX500 arms, they will get CX500 oiling. Cx650 shafts - CX650 oiling:

I found it rather easy to drill these holes w/o killing the drills.

Guelli, I don't have a proper bench drill nor a milling machine.... it must wait for my new garage... I am just doing what I can... sometimes very easy things are very difficult for me.

With these, I am not sure you can get through with HSS... did you use HSS? because I was thinking about buying cobalt drill tomorrow - they are cheaper but I want to send the parcel to Martin and I didn't want to wait...

The Cx650 shaft sent by my friend... not bad... we suspect more than 80.000km on his engine, the wear is 0.02mm

Did you have a solution to drill the little holes?
